The Great Lakes Bat Co. Small Barrel Trainer Set challenges hitters to make consistent contact with a smaller implement. A very simple concept, but a far more difficult task than one would anticipate. Both bats have a one-inch handle with a tapered knob; giving a very traditional and durable feel to the handle.  The overload trainer comes in about 10-15% heavier than a standard drop metal/composite bat, providing the benefits of overerload training in addition to the focus training implicit in the small barrel training. The baseball overload is achieved by utilizing two small weights in the barrel of the bat to create a more endloaded, overload feel. The softball overload is achieved by using a heavier wood billet, providing an overall heavier feel without becoming too endloaded. The underload trainer comes in about 10-15% lighter than a standard drop metal/composite bat, providing the benefits of underload training in addition to the focus training implicit in the small barrel training.
